HOMOTOXICOLOGY
The subject of Homotoxicology is an EXTREMELY IMPORTANT part of Dr. Shelton’s life and our medical practice. It is the bridge between Traditional Allopathic Medicine and Homeopathic Medicine as the brainchild discovery of German Physician Hans Heinrich Reckeweg MD and the pharmaceutical company he founded to produce Homotoxicological Remedies, HEEL INC.
There are two parts to Homotoxicology, which is based on Homeopathic remedies:
1. Clearing toxins from the body to promote healing
2. Treatment of specific individual conditions
Homotoxicology uses the law of “Similars” to select the SINGLE homeopathic dilutional remedy to solve a problem. The example of using diluted onion juice to fix watering eyes is the classic way to describe this principle. The patient may not have been peeling onions but diluted onions can be used to fix watery eyes nevertheless. There are literally hundreds of homeopathic remedies that will cure watery eyes.
The second part of Homotoxicology is its true genius and the actual true worth as a medical philosophy. In the opinion of many its genius is worthy of a Medical Nobel Prize but that dram has never been realized.
It was Dr Reckewegs observation that toxins manifest themselves in deeper and deeper layers of the body as the patient gets sicker and he codified these observations in his famous 6-phase chart of Homotoxicology. Very basically it shows how an illness progresses in any of the 20 different organ systems through the same 6 phases of seriousness of illness progression.
There are certain very specific remedies that treat the 6 phases, no matter which of the organ systems are involved in the illness. These particular remedies stop the progression of the phases AND ACTUALLY MOVES THE ILLNESS BACK TO THE MORE SUPERFICIAL PHASES while the specific organ remedy treats the specific system.
BY COMBINING the specific organ remedy with the appropriate phase remedy AND CHANGING THE PHASE REMEDY as healing starts to occur, the Homotoxicologist really helps the patient. When this is done in combination with Terrain Therapy and Pleomorphic therapy truly great medical advances are achieved!
An example of phases of illness is allergies in the nose.
Phase One is the Excretory phase where a noxious pollen particle attempts to be washed away by a watery nose (simple excretion)
Phase Two is the Reaction Phase where a fever develops from the severe irritation or infection of the Nasal lining.
Phase Three is the Deposition Phase where the watering stops and polyps and cysts form to contain the problem as it is deposited deeper.
Phase Four is the Degeneration Phase is where atrophic Rhinitis of the nose or Tuberculosis of the Lung degeneration of the bodies systems.
Phase Six is the Dedifferentiation Phase where actual Cancer develops as the ultimate serious degeneration of the bodies systems.
In all phases of nasal disease we might be using Nasoheel and Euphorbium Nasal Spray but as the disease progresses through the 6 phases we would use remedies specific for that phase AND KNOW TO CHANGE THE PHASE REMEDY WHEN APPROPRIATE to do so.
Our practice successfully uses the ZYTO system to decide which remedy to use and which phases are currently active for each individual patient.
